(re)Connect – Meditation retreat in Tuscany

(re)Connect to your (higher) self, to other fellow humans and to Nature during this experiential retreat immersed in the colours of the Tuscan contryside in autumn.

Through mindful yoga, meditation, creative visualisations and inspiring talks we will learn how to cultivate wholesome mental states while getting rid of the unwholesome ones in body, speech and mind.

As an attempt to bring together East and West, the content of this retreat is inspired by contemplative practices of all major spiritual traditions like Buddhism and Christianity, as well as by the newest findings from evolutionary psychology and neuroscience.

 

THE PROGRAMME

THURSDAY 12 OCTOBER

Arrival of our fellow meditators throughout the day
Settling down in our new nest in Agriturismo La Maestà

7 pm:                      community dinner
8.30 pm:                 I session: (re)Connect with yourself – breathing meditation

FRIDAY 13 OCTOBER

7 am:                       community wake-up tea
7.30 – 8.15 pm:       mindful yoga and breathing meditation
8.30 – 9.30 pm:       breakfast
10 – 12.30 pm:        II session: (re)Connect with others: unveiling metta

1 – 2 pm: lunch

3 – 5 pm:             It is OK to be Me on this Planet. A workshop with Martina
6.30 pm:             departure to Cortona for dinner (15 min away)
9 pm:                   goodnight yoga nidra

SATURDAY 14 OCTOBER

7 am:                        community wake-up tea
7.30 – 8.15 am:        mindful yoga and breathing meditation
8.30 – 9.30 am:        breakfast
9.30 am:                   departure to La Verna Sanctuary
11 am:                      III session: (re)Connect with nature – walking meditation

1.30 pm:                   lunch at the monastery

2.30 – 4 pm:             visit of the sanctuary and walking meditation in the forest
4 pm:                        departure from La Verna, back to the nest

– free (contemplative) time, free dinner –

9 pm:                        goodnight yoga nidra

 

SUNDAY 15 OCTOBER

7 am:                         community wake-up tea
7.30 – 8.15 pm:         mindful yoga and breathing meditation
8.30 – 9.30 pm:         breakfast
10 – 12.30 pm:          IV session: (re)connect with the Unknown – dedicating the merits

Time to say goodbye, the journey goes on – departure of all our new friends

In all contemplative traditions, a meditation retreat is a time of exploration, deprivation, discovery and cultivation of inner peace. During this time, the suggestion is to stay open to any event as it manifests. Welcome the experience while it unfolds, be humble yet curious, leave any expectation, suspend judgement, smile often.
